Underage Roundup 09/10/16

The U15s bowed out of the SFAI U15 Cup on Saturday when they lost 2-0 away to Greystones United.

The U16s had a little more joy when they progressed on penalties away to Cherry Orchard on Sunday. The game ended 2-2 with goals from Jordan Carr and MArk Dillon. In the next round, they will definitely face a Collinstown side; as two of their U16 teams meet each other in this round.

The U17s welcomed Home Farm to Athlone Town Stadium on Friday night, but the visitors left with all three points thanks to a 2-1 win. Neil Macken got the Athlone goal.

At the FAI Schools Interpros at the weekend, Athlone Town were respesented by St. Aloysius College’s Luke Kelly (Connacht), Athlone Community College’s Conor Layng, and the Marist College’s Joe Carmody (Leinster).

All three featured for their sides in the tournament, with Conor netting 3 goals for Leinster. However, the title went north to Ulster.

Congratulations to all three on their selections and performances.
