It was another busy weekend for the underage sides this weekend with the U15s, U16s and both U17 teams taking to the field, all away from home.
The U15s had a great 4-2 win away to St. Joseph’s Boys on Saturday afternoon. Luke Francis added to a Thomas Devine hat-trick to claim all three points and continue their unbeaten start to the season.
The U16s traveled to face Castleknock Celtic on Sunday and came away with an impressive 8-0 win. Trevor Keena grabbed six of the goals, with Steven O’Connor netting a brace.
The U17s were also on the road on Sunday morning when they faced Finglas Celtic at Kilshane Road. Kevin Rowan, Conor Flynn, Ryan Burke and Alan Freebourne were all on the scoresheet as Town came away with a 4-2 win.
The LOI U17s completed their League season away to Sligo Rovers on Saturday, going into the game with a slim chance of still making the Playoffs. They needed to beat Sligo by any score and hope that Dundalk lost their game at home to Derry City. However, neither result went their way as they lost 2-0 to Sligo, with Dundalk drawing against Derry; meaning Sligo joined St. Pats, Bohs and Finn Harps in the Playoffs.
The draw for the First Round of the SSE Airtricity U17 Shield will take place on Tuesday night.
